Like any other
party, even bridal lingerie showers can be categorized. There is the party made
fun on a small budget, there is the party which has conservative guests and
games have to be planned in order to not scandalize them and there is the
completely different party for the blue ones.
Who are the blue
ones? The blue ones are those who probably would probably have one of the most
popular designers design their bridal gowns, who would get a shoemaker to
custom design their footwear and would probably get a jeweler at Tiffany’s to
craft something exclusively for them. Just because they have exclusive tastes
and the money to match it, does not mean they do not deserve a fun bridal
shower!
How to go about it:
Invitations
Keep the
invitations classy. You can try designs in ivory with a flowery handwritten
font and a string of pearls and champagne flute. Do not forget to ass a hint of
white lace here and there. A peek of an exotic lacey white bra or a bit of a
pearl studded panty stuck in the corner of the invitation to retain the essence
of the party works just fine.
Decoration
Take inspiration
from the classic British movies to know what your décor should be like. Do away
with tumblers and disposables. Bring out the wine glasses or the martini
glasses or any other long stemmed glass. You can add a little decorative satin
sash on the stems of each glass. Keep your décor stylish. You can wrap lace around the table cloth of
your table to emphasize it is a lingerie party, so that your guests know what
to expect. Use a lot of pastels in your décor. Pastel pinks and pastel blues
when combined with white add instant class to any pattern or design.
Gifts and Games
Keep tiny
jewelry boxes in which the guests can place their gifts. When you display all
the lingerie gifts the bride to be has to elegantly life the lids of these
boxes to peek at the gift inside. Get the bride to be to guess which guest has
given her which gift and why. You can even play musical chairs with a lingerie
box. Add a satin gown or something equally conservative to a small box. Put the
small box in a bigger box and the bigger box inside a slightly more bigger box.
Do this till you have a decent size box to pass around. Whoever gets the
smallest box has to model that piece of lingerie.
